Prithvi Mudra – Gesture of Earth
Prithvi is a Sanskrit word, and it means earth, Prithvi mudra increases the element of earth in the body. These meditation postures are used to improve the body and mind.
The earth element is a vital component of bones, cartilage, skin, hair, nails, muscles, internal organs, etc. The practice of Prithvi mudra builds and invigorates these tissues and strengthens the bones. It produces stability, confidence, and strength.
Yoga posture is a group of hand gestures that help to focus and balance the five elements present within the human body. Prithvi Mudra is called because it helps to equalize the earth or the element of earth within the earth. This mudra is additionally said to activate the root chakra.
The earth element of the body is responsible for the symptoms of weight, hair, etc.

Follow the steps of Prithvi Mudra :
- Prithvi Mudra can be done by sitting in Padma Asana (Lotus Pose) or Sukh Asana (Easy Mudra) or standing upright in Tada Asana (mountain pose).
- Touch the tip from the ring finger of each hand to the tip of the thumb. Rest of the fingers should be pointing straight
- Hold this position for some time.
